The Nano Centre, based at Lancaster University, has been created to support the commercialisation of nanotechnologies through appropriate risk assessment. Successful commercialisation of nanotechnologies will require a multi-disciplinary approach and calls for the combined expertise of environmental scientists, toxicologists and materials scientists. As a new venture The Nano Centre will be in a position to serve UK and International markets, with the aim to be the leading provider of significant scientific and advisory resources for the nanotechnology industry. The Nano Centre will achieve this through collaborating and utilizing the existing assets and resources at Lancaster University and the regulatory knowledge experts within The REACH Centre.
